Performer Rejects Anti-Vax Stance Following Lending His Voice To Disputed Coronavirus Film

The acclaimed actor has provided his vocal talents to a recent film that questions the safety of vaccinations and commends former cabinet secretary the political figure.

The Documentary's Disputed Basis

Called "Plague of Corruption," the documentary is based on a bestselling book published by a disgraced researcher, who rose to infamy during the health crisis for assertions that the illness was caused by a faulty batch of the seasonal immunization.

The book's writing partner, a producer, has also written books with controversial radio host the Infowars host. He recently posted hailing Neeson's involvement in the documentary.

A Firm Statement

A spokesperson for Neeson have issued a response pushing back against claims that he supports anti-vaccine sentiments.

"Everyone can acknowledge that corruption might be present within the pharmaceutical industry, but that must not be equated to opposition to vaccines," the statement states. "Liam has never been, and remains not, anti-vax. His considerable work with the global charity reinforces his enduring support for worldwide vaccination initiatives."

The statement added that the actor had no hand in the project's messaging and that concerns about its claims ought to go to the filmmakers.

Major Assertions Within the Film

As presented, the narration read by Neeson makes several controversial statements:

  • It states that pro-vaccine voices have demanded "complete compliance" to government bodies.
  • It declares that "medical science has become deeply politicised."
  • Robert F Kennedy Jr is shown stating, "The core flaw with vaccines is that they are not properly vetted."
  • The narration further attacks pandemic restrictions, claiming they caused mental anguish that resulted in thousands of lives.
  • On the topic of the immunizations, it references a perspective that they were "developed too quickly" and seen as "hazardous tests."

Past Background and Ongoing Issues

The documentary further cites a historical film about HIV drug testing on children, which was later the subject of a BBC apology by the corporation for unbalanced reporting.

Recently, Kennedy called on the CDC to change its longstanding position that there is no connection between immunizations and autism spectrum disorder. This supposed link is repeated in the film, contrary to a recent study from the global health body stating no evidence has been found.

A Past Record of Advocacy

Differing from the film's narrative, Neeson has previously expressed clear advocacy for vaccines in his capacity as a charity ambassador.

Previously, he called vaccines as "a remarkable achievement," noting that "The discourse about vaccines in the past few years has lost sight of how much good they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest collective achievements in human history."

The film finishes with Neeson's narration stating, "This isn't the end of our narrative. Rather, it is the beginning of a new chapter."
