Both are being considered with the coaching position at the Scottish champions following the former manager's resignation on Monday.

The Manager's Position on The Scottish Club

The Ipswich boss referred to Celtic as "an enormous soccer institution" but stressed he is "deeply involved" of a "long-term project" with Ipswich Town.

The 39-year-old assumed control of Ipswich in recent years and led them to the Premier League with consecutive elevations, but they won just four games last campaign as they were demoted back to the second division and they presently occupy 12th in England's second tier.

"There have been such conversations," the English capital native ex- Irish youth international said when asked about being on the candidate list.

"It's not something I have considered seriously, or where any portion of my focus is this week.

"I have a unique job here at a remarkable team. And we're at a really important stage of the season. Anything outside of that hasn't reached my awareness."

Context and Agreement Aspects

Reports indicate that the manager would be willing to talk to the Scottish side given his childhood support.

"Growing up, we all have our preferences," he said when asked about these. "It's unlikely everyone has to publicly and declare what they were, but of course it's a massive sports organization."

The coach agreed to a fresh multi-year deal in 2024 and was questioned about his alleged £5m release clause.

"Throughout coaching agreements, there are things," he responded. "I'm unaware what my specific terms are and, if I did, I wouldn't tell you regardless!

"I approach this role like I'll be Town's coach indefinitely. I understand that's not invariably going to be the situation, but I will consistently do my best as while I remain in position."

Bellamy's Position

The former striker played for the Hoops on temporary transfer from the Magpies in 2005, but the ex- Welsh striker is minded to complete the ongoing World Cup qualification, a stance that would effectively rule out the 46-year-old from assuming the Celtic job.

The Welsh squad are currently in third place in their qualifying group behind leaders Belgium and runners-up Macedonia.

Victories over the minnows and North Macedonia in next month would secure their position in the final qualifying round, but they are virtually guaranteed of making those, thanks to a productive Nations League campaign, should they fail to end up Group J second place.

Given his current stance, the Wales manager, whose contract concludes after the European Championship, would be unavailable until following the qualifying matches at the minimum.
