New Information Come to Light Regarding the Discovery of Rob and Michele Singer Reiner's Bodies
New information has come to light concerning the shocking demises of renowned filmmaker Rob Reiner and artist Michele Singer Reiner, whose bodies were discovered at their residence residence on Sunday.
The Discovery
A source indicates referencing a person close to the family, a massage therapist scheduled for an appointment was the first to notice something was wrong after being unable to gain access the house. The practitioner then contacted the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who lives nearby.
Upon entering the home, Romy came upon her father's body. It is said she then fled the house in anguish, not realizing at that moment that her mother's body was also inside. A companion who had accompanied her contacted 911. Afterward, paramedics discovered Michele Singer Reiner's body.
Legal Proceedings
Law enforcement have charged the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with the charges of premeditated murder, including the charge related to a weapon, said to be a knife. He is currently in custody and is ineligible for bail.
Clarifications
The anonymous source questioned several earlier details. It was stated that while Romy Reiner told first responders that her brother Nick resided in a detached unit on the estate, she did not name him as a potential suspect at that time.
Additionally refuted published suggestions that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been especially "worried" about Nick's behavior in the weeks leading up to the incident. Rather the family was "accustomed to working through [Nick's] problems together."
This refutation also extends to accounts of alleged "erratic" behavior by Nick at a party hosted by Conan O'Brien on the night before the discovery. Although the source said they were not in a position to confirm whether Rob had "scolded" his son at the party, they asserted that suggestions of a "blow-up" between the two were untrue.
Investigation Timeline
As stated by law enforcement sources, the medical examiner had not yet established at that point whether the Reiners died late on Saturday or on Sunday. Some accounts suggested the condition of their bodies suggested they had been dead for a period of time.
Nick Reiner was arrested at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Exposition Park, roughly 15 miles from the scene. He was scheduled to have a hearing on Tuesday, but his legal counsel, Alan Jackson, said his client had not been medically cleared and would not be present until Wednesday at the earliest.
