Esteemed Performer Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Known For Parts in Seinfeld and The Middle, Dies at 60 Years Old.
American entertainer Pat Finn, who was seen in popular programs like Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has succumbed at the age of 60.
The comedic improv actor passed away at his residence in Los Angeles this Monday having undergone cancer treatment from 2022 onward, per media reports.
"Pat Finn never met a stranger - only friends he didn't know yet," his relatives shared in a message.
They continued that he had "lived his life fully - with joy and exuberance".
A Prolific TV Career
His initial on-screen part was on the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he appeared as the lead character's sibling.
He subsequently landed a regular part on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.
He played the part of the character Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in the late 90s, portraying a host known to delegate burdensome jobs to his guests.
Throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s, he made guest appearances on a variety of popular shows, such as:
- King of Queens
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- "House"
Finn was perhaps best known for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in The Middle, appearing throughout eight series between 2011 and 2018.
His work in movies are "It's Complicated" and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
Off-Screen Life
Away from his acting parts, Finn was an improv performer and worked as a teacher at the University of Colorado, where he was a professor.
He was a member of a comedy group of six named Beer Shark Mice.
"Pat coached, befriended and mentored countless students over the years and you'd be hard-pressed to find a person who has anything negative to say about him," his relatives stated.
In a tribute, fellow actor Richard Kind remarked there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, grounded individual you could encounter".
"Perpetually optimistic, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A wonderful father and man," he posted publicly.
Finn is leaves behind his spouse Donna, three children, and his parents and siblings.
